Land Legacy Sponsors 5K Race

Land Run attracted nearly 100 runners, despite inclement weather.

On October 4, 2003, nearly 100 runners braved rain and wind to participate in Land Run, a 5K race conducted by Land Legacy in downtown Tulsa.

Land Run was sponsored by the QuikTrip Corporation, the Mexicali Border Cafe, and other contributors. It was held to raise awareness for Land Legacy's ongoing efforts to create parks in downtown Tulsa.

The 5K race began at 6 pm and wound through historic downtown Tulsa. Nearly 100 runners participated, despite inclement weather. A street party immediately following the race was moved inside the Mexicali Border Cafe due to rain.

The race began at the corner of Archer and Main Streets in Tulsa, the site of what will soon be Tulsa's only downtown park. This small "pocket park" will be the first of several throughout Tulsa's downtown district.

Land Legacy deeply appreciates the many runners, friends, volunteers, and sponsors that made Land Run a success.
